We are looking for a comprehensive and robust POS (Point of Sale) system for our retail store, which must seamlessly integrate with WooCommerce to synchronise our physical and online store operations. The system should be app-based (not web-based) and compatible with Windows, iOS, and Android.
Key Features & Responsibilities
1. Sales & Transaction Management
• Develop a user-friendly POS system that ensures smooth transaction processing.
• Provide a clean and intuitive interface for fast and efficient checkout.
• Multi-currency support for international transactions.
• Accept payments via SumUp and Stripe card readers.
• Display clear pricing information to customers at the time of purchase on a separate screen (iPad).
• Allow customised receipts and invoices, including:
• Company logo
• Client information (including Company Name and VAT Number)
• Tax details (VAT-exempt for non-EU customers and VAT-exempt for verified EU businesses using VIES API integration).
2. Inventory & Product Management
• Real-time inventory tracking across online and physical stores.
• Sync different VAT/Tax rates from WooCommerce (e.g., 4% reduced, 21% standard).
• Implement stock alerts to notify staff when inventory levels are low.
• Ability to import, manage, and categorise products efficiently.
• Label printing capabilities for products, including:
• Barcode
• Title
• Price
• Currency symbol
• Category
3. WooCommerce Integration
• Real-time data synchronisation between POS and WooCommerce.
• Ensure all order details created on POS (including VAT rates, discounts, and customer details) appear in WooCommerce backend & sales reports.
• When a client checks out using the POS, their Company Name and VAT Number must also appear in WooCommerce.
• Integration with VIES API ([login to view URL]) or the existing WooCommerce EU VAT Number plugin ([login to view URL]) for VAT validation.
4. Customer & Employee Management
• Customer profile management with purchase history tracking.
• Implement role-based access control, allowing custom permissions for different staff roles.
• Employee time tracking for shift and attendance management.
• Promotion and discount management for in-store and online sales.
5. Multi-Language Support
• The POS system should support multiple languages, allowing for localisation based on customer and staff needs.
6. Hardware Compatibility
The system must be fully compatible with the following hardware:
• Star Mobile Printers: SM-T300i, SM-T400i
• Dymo Label Printers
• Socket Mobile Barcode Scanners
• SumUp Card Readers
• Stripe Card Readers
7. Reporting & Analytics
• Advanced customisable reporting dashboards for tailored business insights.
• Detailed sales reports (by product, VAT rate, payment type, etc.).
• Integration with our accounting software for seamless financial management.
8. Support & Maintenance
• The POS system should come with 24/7 customer support for immediate issue resolution.
• Ongoing software updates to ensure compatibility and security.
